Special thanks to Chick’s Saddlery for providing the trophy halters and raffle prizes for this event! We’ll be giving out special Chick’s coupons for the Congress at the event, so don’t forget to check them out and send them some big thanks!
Tell us about the horse you’ll be running in The Best of the Best in Ohio Barrel Race. (Name, bloodlines, style, age, owner, any other fun details.)
The horse I am running is Pretty Boy Bullion a.k.a. Shrek. He is a 5-year-old gelding out of Bully Bullion and a Dash Ta Fame daughter, Texannas Dash. He has a really neat way of running; he loves to slide his butt. He is a lot of fun to be around and doesn’t get worked up about much.
What is the biggest race this horse has won?
He hasn’t won a huge barrel race yet but he is always right there. He has won a lot of our local shows and placed high at our state shows.
What is your biggest win as a barrel racer?
I have won numerous things but my proudest moment was placing second in a go and ending up fifth in the finals at the NBHA World Show. I really enjoy helping other barrel racers succeed as well.
Have you ever run at the WB Ranch before? (If so, what did you think of the facility and the ground, and how did your horses work there?)
I have won a lot of money in the WB Arena, it’s a very nice place with good ground. Shrek enjoyed running there.
Tell us one little-known fact about you or your horse.
It has taken me and Shrek a while to become a team, but we have finally got there. We are figuring each other out, and it has been a lot of fun getting to where we are now.
This race is all about charity –– Tell us the cause you believe in the most.
I am up for anything that is for helping others. There are a lot of people out there that need support, and it is awesome that barrel racing is helping out. I am very grateful to be a part of this, it is a wonderful thing.
