Meet the Best of the Best in Ohio: Macie Davidson

If there’s one thing I can tell about barrel racing across the country, it’s that it runs in the family. So far, you’ve met Morgan and Regan Henning, and you’re going to meet another sisterly combo today with Natalie Davidson’s 14-year-old sister, Macie! Macie has definitely made a name from herself apart from her big sis’s major wins, as she’s been a dominant force not only on the horse she’s competing in The Best of the Best in Ohio aboard, but on a little pony named Gypsy as well. This blonde dynamo has seen success at local, regional and national levels, and definitely deserves a spot in The Best of the Best in Ohio Charity Barrel Race

Major thanks again to all of our sponsors. We’ve got a great group of goodies to give away and raffle off for United Cerebral Palsy at the race!

Did you get your t-shirt yet? Get a hold of Dawn or Clea to get a shirt before the race, or look any of us up all weekend at Swanton. We just put in another order because these suckers are selling like crazy. Remember, if Dawn or Clea spot you at a barrel race wearing your t-shirt, you could win a $50 gas card!

Tell us about the horse you’ll be running in The Best of the Best in Ohio Barrel Race. (Name, bloodlines, style, age, owner, any other fun details.)

His name is Three Bar Meyers. He’s a War Bar Meyers and Three Bars horse. He’s 14, and I own him.

What is the biggest race this horse has won?

He has won many local barrel races, rodeos and big money races.
What is your biggest win as a barrel racer?
I was reserve champion at the Youth World in 2010 and Reserve Champion at the Mega in Mississippi.
Have you ever run at the WB Ranch before? (If so, what did you think of the facility and the ground, and how did your horses work there?)
No, I have not; but I’m very excited to. I can’t wait!
Tell us one little-known fact about you or your horse.
He loves to eat honey and oat bars.
This race is all about charity. What’s the biggest cause you believe in and why?
MS–because two of my friends were both diagnosed with it. It breaks my heart to see people deal with such an awful disease, and I would love to do anything to raise money for this cause.

  1. This young lady is beyond the best of the best! She is 100% a class act-
Macie is the kid every parent dreams of raising. She may be tiny in stature, but her heart is bigger than the moon and her loving spirit shines brighter than the sun!
