OMG (and yes I used OMG) there are MILES to go before we sleep (approx. 1,500 for me, that is!) and I’m sure Ms. Allie Evans has lots of loving to do on her mare, Supermodel, before the big day. Evans is riding the standout mare who won the Congress just last year with her mother aboard, and we’re excited to see what they can do against the best youth and open riders in the state (and in my humble opinion, in the country) this weekend!

I owe most of my success to my mom! If it wasnt for her always believing in me and working I wouldnt be where I am today. I also owe great thanks to the late Gerald Piatt, an amazing man, friend, grandpa and horseman. Over the years he taught me almost everything I know now, and I know he is always watching from above when I run cheering us on. The military for shapping me into the person I have become. & Sevi Torturo for raising, training, and eventually letting go and selling me Blue and believing in her!

Best of the Best in Ohio Qualifier (and DEFENDING CHAMP!): Anne Johnson

2011 Best of the Best Champion Anne Johnson and Show Me Some Glory

When Anne Johnson blew the rest of the competition out of the water to win The Best of the Best in Ohio Charity Slot Race in its first year, we all couldn’t have been happier for this pint-sized mother and awesome jockey. She and her Solid Paint-Bred mare used the momentum they gained from The Best of the Best to go on to make us all proud at the Congress, qualifying for the Congress Sweepstakes Finals.

Anne is back this year to claim her portion of our prize package, which this year includes a Cactus Saddle, Charlie 1 Horse Hat, and MUCH more!
