Chelsea, Clea, MARLEY and Dawn at The Best of the Best in Ohio Slot Race to Benefit Team Marley in 2011
We’re nuts, and you’re either going to love us or hate us. Ok, so we sure would like you to love us.
Dawn, Clea and Chelsea have been working on The Barrel Racing Blog as a labor of love for the last 3.5 years. Chelsea started it as a school project, and a few months later Dawn and Clea jumped on board. Then, Chelsea moved to Colorado and started real life, and now she counts on all of YOU and Dawn and Clea to keep her in the loop so she can keep the rest of you in the loop.
Dawn and Clea reside in Hotel Bloomer a few days out of the week, so look for them on the road somewhere. They’re the two crazy ladies with seven horses at every show, with a Silver Bullet in one hand and dogs in the other. And if they’re around, don’t do anything embarrassing, because they’ll catch it on camera.
Dawn and Clea also spend a great deal of time nagging Chelsea to do things. Chelsea says nagging in the most affectionate of terms, because Chelsea knows she needs nagged. She needs to focus more… but we digress… talking in third person can cause this…
Now, we are moving to bigger things than just The Barrel Racing Blog. We want to help this one special little girl, Marley, and other charities through barrel racing. And, we want to put on the best shows this side of the Mississippi. We started The Best of the Best in Ohio Charity Slot Race last year, and this year it’s going to be bigger and better than ever. The Barrel Racing Blog began in April 2009 as a place for the Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia barrel racing community to read news and opinion about the sport in this area. Since then, this blog has featured interviews with top local talents side-by-side with qualifiers to both the National Finals Rodeo and the International Finals Rodeo. Aside from interviews, The Barrel Racing Blog has reviewed rodeos and barrel races Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia so barrel racers who weren’t there can get the “real” story on the event.

I was just wondering what are you horses names? I have seen Onyx run but I was wondering what her registered name is? I think it would be cool if you told a little bit about each horse you own and run and what their running styles are like. The differneces and etc. I enjoy your blog especially since I just got back into barrel racing after 11 years of not riding due to serious traumatic brain injury. Thanks Amanda

Hi, were getting ready to start up our own production co. were in Tucson Az. there are many
clubs here, which my daughter is vice president of
one. But were tired of the points system…so would
like to just put on barrel races. We have a great
arena in Sonita AZ. which puts on local rodeos, horse
races and county fair. The arena will provide the
insurance.
I wondered if you have any advise for three gals
just getting started..
